A global teamwork

As the Director of Experience at Indigo Slate, a Zensar company with a global footprint, I led the Human Experience Innovation (HXI) studio, where I oversaw a talented team of 6 UX product designers and senior strategists. Our studio was dedicated to helping existing clients elevate their experience design and product vision while also attracting new clients. In addition to managing my direct team, I coordinated multiple UX contractors to ensure our products were designed to the highest standards.

My direct team was based in the US (PST, CST, EST), Colombia, and Mexico. I also closely worked with extended team members based in the UK, India and South Africa for Zensar related projects.

Design leadership

My approach as a studio leader at HXI is rooted in being in service to my team. I believe in supporting and mentoring each team member to ensure they have everything they need to succeed. I provided thought leadership, vision, and roadmap at a high level, as well as practiced in projects at a delivery and execution level.

Building a culture of trust and growth

In addition to our Monday standups and weekly 1:1 meetings for project support and mentoring, I introduced three unique collaborative sessions focused on design, career growth, and team bonding.

Monday Design Jam: A dedicated hour each Monday afternoon where we explored new design techniques, software, AI, or research methodologies, chosen by the team.

Wednesday Community of Practice: Workshops centered on inspiring topics, often sparked by a short video, to enhance our work-life balance and professional growth.

Friday Shareouts: A space for the team to reflect on the week, both personally and professionally, and for me to gain insights into their experiences.

This structure fostered a collaborative, supportive environment that empowered the team and strengthened our connections.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

At the company level, I worked with our Executive Directors, Founder, and Account Directors on proposals and meetings with potential clients. At the project level, the HXI Studio regularly partnered with BizTech, Creative, and Motion teams. I led HXI during project conception, resource planning, and collaboration with these cross-functional teams.

I also collaborated closely with Indigo Slate’s Executive Directors, Founder, and Zensar executives on ongoing projects and new business opportunities. I played a key role in securing new business globally for both Zensar and Indigo Slate.
